LiGHTs is a five-member idol unit in the Lapis Re:LiGHTs series, and is the main unit followed in both the Anime and Manga. In the introductory Web Comic "Our Prelude", the members of LiGHTs attend the 'special class' and coincidentally form a unit together, while in the Manga, the members of LiGHTs are spontaneously rounded up by Tiara. with no mention of class. In the Anime, the members of LiGHTs are a borderline failing unit in the Lapis rank instead, promoting to Rouge at the end of the Anime.

Etymology[]
The group arrives at their final name of LiGHTs from differing origins, depending on the media.
Web Comic[]
In the final chapter of LiGHTs' arc in the Web Comic, Rosetta came up with "Light", after playing mental gymnastics with the keyword of "RAY", their common point of interest. It was then refined by Tiara into "LiGHTs", who proposed the genius idea of adding 1 letter.
Manga[]
In Chapter 3 of the Manga, Lynette came up with the parallel of comparing the girls of LiGHTs to shining beads/beacons of light. The rest of the members then proceeded to add on their motivational quotes of the simile, ending off the train with Lavie suggesting to use that idea for their unit name.
Anime[]
In Episode 8 of the Anime, Tiara talks about the beauty of Shiny Stones and wanting to be a shining light as she watches the night-lights of Malmcester light up. This is then refined by Lynette to LiGHTs.

Trivia[]
- Despite Rosetta's various roles, she was a part of team "Useless Rejects", coined in a special audio drama live reading during the "Lapi! A competition full of witches! ~Our Concerto~" live stream. She was promptly witch hunted by fellow rejects Maryberry, Alpha, and Lucifer, after her competency was revealed.
